The Arts Collective at the OK Hotel welcomes Seattle Artist Vida Rose to the OK Hotel for May’s 1T Art Walk!
About the Artist
Vida Rose is an interdisciplinary artist based Seattle, WA. She has had formal training in painting, drawing and design, and focused on film and video arts at the Evergreen State College.
Since 2001 she has been fascinated women’s dances of the Middle East and spent a year learning Turkish Rom dance with Istanbul legend Reyhan Tuszuz. She has performed and taught ‘bellydance’ in Seattle and Istanbul.
When she is not traveling, learning languages, drawing people on the bus, baking bread, going for a walk or making tea, she is making art for the Northwest, where we need “more color, more movement and humor”. She is currently working on a children’s book about lions and teaching dance in her home studio. Her loftiest fantasy is to produce a Pippi Longstocking bellydance rock opera.
